#61 A Simple Message We All Need to Hear

Short but essential this week (and some links for more)

Here it is: Your story matters. Share it.

It is a magical piece of you. You may need help shaping or clarifying it, but it matters. It doesn’t need to be perfect. It just needs to be. The world needs it.

Spend time with it, with yourself. Unpack it. Shape it, help it come into being then share it. Whether it’s for a business, your career, or your life.

A Story Well Told

Michaela Coel. A legend, an idol, an artist, an inspiration. I’ve shared before how obsessed I am with this woman. Her Emmy speech just added to the hype in my head. She had a message for writers that I think is valuable for storytellers of all mediums. If you haven’t watched I May Destroy You yet, do it. It’ll break your heart and then heal it. The woman is a master storyteller.

See her full speech here:

P.S. If you haven’t already, I would be SO appreciative if you could dip into this SHORT survey I put together. I’m spending September doing a bit of business planning for 2022 and I want to make sure I make things that folks find valuable. I’m close to finishing up programming for Storytelling University (as the pilot teaches me SO MUCH about what matters to folks as they craft their business stories). The program is an idea born out of conversations with readers like you and clients about what they want to be better at as storytellers and their struggles to share their stories. As you know. This is part of that. I have a couple of questions I’m hoping you can answer for me before I finalize things for next year. Are you open to helping me learn even more? Literally two questions. You can answer them here. I appreciate you taking the time.
